How we work

A simple, four-step process.

From the first phone call to the final tidy-up, here’s exactly what to expect when you book PJC Tree Care.

  1. 01

    Site Visit

We come out to look at the trees in person — assess the work, the access, anything that needs special handling, and answer your questions on the spot.

  2. 02

    Free Quote

A clear, written quote with no obligation. We explain exactly what work we recommend, why, and what it will cost — including arisings disposal.

  3. 03

    Expert Tree Care

NPTC-qualified climbers and ground crew, BS 3998-compliant working method. Every job is properly planned, properly insured, and carried out safely.

  4. 04

    Site Cleared & Tidy

We chip what we can on site, recycle the rest, and leave the area as we found it. No mess, no leftover branches — just the result you asked for.

How it works

From your first call to the final sweep.

Tree work feels like a big call to make. Here’s exactly what happens after you get in touch — no surprises, no jargon.

  1. 01

    You call or message

A real human — usually Peter — picks up. No call-centre, no menus.

  2. 02

    We visit your site

Free walk-around at a time that suits you, so we can see what the work really needs.

  3. 03

    You get a clear quote

Written, itemised, with timing options. No pressure, no surprises later.

  4. 04

    We get to work

BS 3998 method, £10M cover, and the site cleaner than we found it.

Controlled dismantling

How we bring big timber down safely.

When space is tight, controlled rigging lets us remove sections with precision. It protects roofs, fences, lawns and everything else around the tree.

Controlled section felling with rope rigging on a mature tree
  1. 01

    Assess

Read the tree and the landing zone

We inspect the tree, nearby structures, access, wind exposure and where each section can be lowered without risk.

  2. 02

    Anchor

Set the climbing and lowering system

The climber works from a secure position while the ground crew manages the lowering rope and keeps the drop zone clear.

  3. 03

    Control

    Lower timber in manageable sections

Branches and stem sections are cut to a planned size, then guided down smoothly instead of being dropped.

  4. 04

    Clear

Process, tidy and check the finish

Timber, brash and sawdust are dealt with properly, with paths, lawns and beds left neat before we leave.

What our clients say

Real words from real customers.

Peter and the team felled a large oak in our front garden that was leaning towards the house. Quoted promptly, turned up on time, worked safely and left the site spotless. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Sarah M.

Newport Pagnell

We had three mature limes that needed reducing and a hedge running the full length of the boundary. Excellent communication from the first call to the final invoice — and the trees look fantastic.

David & Ruth K.

Milton Keynes

Used PJC twice now — once for stump grinding after a previous fell, and again for crown thinning on a beech. Honest pricing, friendly crew, proper professionals.

Andrew T.

Olney

Storm damage left a huge limb hanging over the garage. Peter came out the same day to make it safe and returned the following week to do the full reduction. A real lifesaver.

Emily R.

Cranfield

Had a large conifer screen reduced and reshaped. The end result is exactly what we wanted and the work was done with real care for our garden — even my dog was won over.
